Exemenation project: Brobygrafiska

Brännbollsyran is one of Sweden’s largest festivals, held annually in Umeå. The event combines the World Championship in brännboll — a traditional Scandinavian bat-and-ball game — with music, partying, and a strong sense of community. Over the years, it has grown into a major cultural event for both students and the local audience in Västerbotten. However, the existing visual identity has aged poorly and struggles to stand out from its competitors as well as resonate with today’s target audience.

Our goal was to develop a brand identity that connects with the current audience while also appealing to a broader future demographic. Inspired by the festival’s unique mix of sport and celebration — while also including the nostalgia and heritage of the original tournament — we created a completely new graphic profile. Through these changes, we’ve helped strengthen Brännbollsyran’s brand and ensure its continued relevance for the future.
